Start Folding to Earn Curecoin

Contribute computational power to bio-molecular research via Folding@home (Team 224497) and automatically earn daily Curecoin distributions. Setup takes under five minutes.

Step 1: Download & Install Folding@home

  1. Download the client for your OS from foldingathome.org/start-folding.
  2. Run the installer using default settings. Once installed, launch the Folding@home client or open your browser control panel at http://localhost:7396.

Step 2: Generate Your Passkey

A passkey authenticates your work units and qualifies your compute nodes for maximum point bonuses.

  1. Navigate to apps.foldingathome.org/getpasskey.
  2. Enter your desired Username (7 to 50 characters) and your Email Address.
  3. Check your email for your 32-character passkey string. Keep this handy.
Crucial: Your username is case-sensitive. Record the exact capitalization you choose.

Step 3: Configure Team 224497

Open your Folding@home client configuration / identity settings and set:

  • Name: Your exact Folding@home username (case-sensitive)
  • Team Number:224497 (Curecoin Distributed Network)
  • Passkey: Paste your 32-character passkey

Save your settings. Your CPU and GPU slots will automatically begin requesting work units from Stanford / Folding@home research servers.

Step 4: Link Your Wallet on Research Core

To route your earned CURE directly to your wallet, bind your folding identity:

  1. Copy your receiving address from your Curecoin Wallet (curecoin-qt).
  2. Go to researchcore.curecoin.net/register.
  3. Register using the exact same username (case-sensitive) you entered in Folding@home, and input your wallet payout address.

Reward Distribution & Payout Notes

  • Warm-up Period: Folding@home requires 10 completed work units under your passkey before releasing Quick Return Bonus (QRB) points. Initial points and PPD (Points Per Day) will stabilize after these initial runs.
  • Daily Oracle Processing: The Curecoin Oracle monitors verified team folding completions every 24 hours. Payouts are calculated proportionally based on your completed work units relative to total team output.
  • First Payout: Expect your initial blockchain distribution within 24–48 hours of completing your first verified work unit.
